To live a life for oneself, for all the temporary and false comforts and pleasures, is a wasted life. Comfort and security should not be the main goal of anyone who calls them self a follower of Christ. These are some words that I wrote to myself in my journal recently. So I am reminding myself too
“If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.” Matthew 10:37-39 God help us to live in such a way that would bring You honor and glory. None of us and all of You!
Complacency is the deadly enemy of spiritual progress. The contented soul is the stagnant soul. A.W. Tozer

Liz,
Thanks for the reminder. I needed that! It is so easty to get caught up in having comfort and security and lose sight of what really matters.
I love you,
Mom
I was needing a reminder too
I was having a hard time one day last week and felt like God reminded me of those verses.
