Ok-It’s tome for a little review and evaluation of the past few weeks.
The first challenge was setting a morning routine with a list of 5 things to do. I have actually been doing really well with that and it has led me to make an even longer list and outline of how I would like my day to go. (yikes!) That was a huge step for me. I have tried to make schedules many times but when I didn’t follow them perfectly I thought they were a failure and I would toss them. I am now realizing that my day or my schedule doesn’t have to look like any one elses and It’s more of an outline and that it can actually give me freedom to be creative! It’s great to refer back to when me or the kiddos are needing some direction:)
Our second challenge was setting a bedtime and sticking to it. Well…I have not been so great at that one. It has still been about 11-11:30 before I get into bed.
Our third was choosing to be cheerful and have a good attitude even when you don’t feel like it. This is a tough one! I am getting better but still have a ways to go in this area. I totally agree with the idea that your day will be as good as you decide it will be. Attitude is SO important. Over the last couple years God has really been dealing with me on this.
Our fourth challenge was setting an evening routine. This was an easy one as most of the things on my list I already did.
Our most recent challenge and the hardest one yet (for me) was setting a getting up time. As I have a hard time getting myself to bed at a decent hour it has been challenging. But, I have been doing a lot better! I have been setting my alarm every morning and geting up earlier on a consistent basis. Again, I still have more changing to do in this area but I am getting better! Baby steps!

I have been trying to establish a wake up time as well, and have been struggling with it! I think I have found a solution though
Instead of feeling like a failure every day, I began listening to my body and noticing that I naturally wake up around 5:30-6. I was trying to get myself to wake up at 5 am, but I just couldn’t stick with it! Now I have set my wake up time between 5:30-6 and have been able to stick with it. Now I don’t feel as though I am “failing” with my wake up times each day!
As far as getting to be on time, that is easy for me. By 8:30, I am ready for bed. I have always been an early to bed person my whole life! BUT if I stay up past 9:00 I can’t seem to get to sleep!
Oh well, enough rambling! Have a good day!
Still working here too, glad we had a week to re-focus and think about what will work best.
