Last night I finished the book Be Fruitful and Multiply. What a great/convicting read! It grieves my heart to think about how anti God my attitude has been about children! It amazes me when I think about how the church has adopted the worlds ungodly views and attitude on life!
Did you know that up until 1930 contraception and sterilization were considered by church theologians to be the murder of future unborn children?! Think about it. What are some of the reasons people use birth control/sterilization to prevent a pregnancy? Bad timing, money, career, too young, too old, etc. Aren’t those some of the same reasons why women have abortions?! We condemn abortion as a heinous act, but participate in something else that I feel grieves the Lord just as much! We try to stop life!
God says that children are a gift, a reward from Him. (Psalm 127:3) Why would we ever reject a gift/blessing from the Lord?! I do not want to stand before the God of the universe and have to explain to Him why I rejected His blessing.
Why have we(I) accepted birth control/sterilization as ok?! We don’t even know the facts. Dr.’s are not going to tell you that there are backup methods to b/c that have caused potentially millions of early abortions in just a matter of years!! As Christians we have got to stop following aimlessly along with what culture says is acceptable and go back to the Word of God and find out what He says about children.
Yes, we despise the practice of abortion but are we truly pro-life, in word, attitude, and action? Is He our Lord or not? If He is not Lord of all, can He be Lord at all? (Rick Hess)
Every human being that comes into the world is another potential for God’s purposes and glory and to destroy the works of the enemy. This is why Satan tries to destroy God’s purposes for mothers. The greatest threat to him is a mother who understands her calling, to nurture and nourish life, to train, polish, and sharpen these children for God’s mighty purposes-and for the eternal age. It is time for us to see life the way God sees it. It is time for us to repent. ~Nancy Campbell
I could go on and on about this. It is something that God has been showing and convicting my husband and I on for a while now. But I really believe the Bible and the two books mentioned below explain what I am trying to say a lot better! I would really encourage you to read them. If neither of the books below are available to you let me know and I will try to get a copy to you. I am SO passionate about this!

Hi Kate,
Thanks for your comment. Here is what I believe.
I believe there is one God. His name is Jesus. He is the Creator of all. He is the Beginning and the End. The First and the Last. Apart from Jesus no man can be saved. We are all born sinners. Prone to depravity. He did not make the world with gays in it. He made the world with people in it that make their own choices. He is also a God of great mercy and compassion. I am a wretch. There is nothing good in me apart from Him. He saved me from a life of sin and death. To a life of righteousness, freedom, and hope. He is worthy of every beat of my heart, every breath that I take and every drop of my blood. I will live for Him as long as I still have breath inside of me.
Great post and great blog! I added you to my blogroll. I hope that you will check mine out and consider doing the same.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Liz! I fully agree with you on this issue. I’m thankful to have a friend that is so passionate about the things of God!
